The convergence of foodservice and convenience

Global Convenience Store Focus is delighted to be working with John Benson Smith. John is a former BBC MasterChef and consultant Chef. We see huge potential in the convergence of the world of food creation with the grocery and convenience retail industry.

Experts like John are important catalysts for change in our industry and we’d like to further encourage this. As John says in this interview:

“Wear the badge saying I’m committed, I’m a real foodie, OR put a different badge on saying I’m not really bothered.”

John spent a number of years working with British supermarket Morrison’s and in this short interview discusses this with Dan Munford. Morrison’s have certainly committed and the end result of this commitment, the superb Market Kitchen format is a game changer for grocery and convenience retail.
