EV Charging
The family-owned and award-winning 24-Autohöfe are located next to some of the busiest highways in Germany, Europe’s #1 transit country. There is usually no or very limited public fast charging infrastructure at the state-owned truck stops and service areas (“unbewirtschaftete und bewirtschaftete Rastanlagen).
Against this backdrop, it is a particular achievement that the 24-Autohof-Leipzig-Airport, with its exceptional location (see site overview), not only offers a large fast-charging park, but also gives EV drivers the opportunity to choose from the services of three (3!) leading EV infrastructure operators.
The unique range of services creates market incentives for fair pricing, maximum uptime and a guaranteed successful fast charging experience when on the road!
Autohöfe are located in the immediate vicinity of Autobahn exits and are therefore accessible from three directions: from two highway directions and from the region, resulting in triple efficiency and utilisation.
The 24-Autohof-Leipzig-Airport serves the 24,000,000 annual vehicles on the route as a system-relevant and recognised supply and recreation hub.

More about NIO’s Battery Power Swap Station
Battery charged to 90 % in just three minutes* – the NIO Power Swap Station offers a smart and exclusive charging experience through fully automatic battery swapping. With over 1,200 patented inventions, the NIO Power Swap Station is the world’s leading technology for battery swapping within a few minutes and enables a gentle charge of the replaced batteries.
The NIO Power Swap Station 3.0 located at 24-Leipzig-Schkeuditz-Autohof consists of a covered parking platform onto which the vehicle is automatically manoeuvred at the start of the process, and an adjacent ‘battery hotel’ where batteries are recharged and stored, ready for use. Each station can hold up to 21 batteries and can deliver up to 408 swaps per day at maximum capacity.
NIO’s Power Swap Stations already support grid stability in Europe today and will boost the green energy transition tomorrow. They can act as a flexible energy storage solution, compensating for fluctuations in demand and supply.
NIO supports the electricity grid by providing decentralised buffer storage. Energy storage compensates for fluctuations in electricity. This stabilises the grid and helps to reduce electricity prices.
*The fully automatic battery swap starts when the sliding floor doors are opened for the first time and is completed when they are closed for the final time
