In the third of our Global Convenience Store focus video reports from the NACS Show, the World’s leading event for the global convenience and energy retail industry, Gilbarco Veeder-Root hosted a Shop Talk LIVE panel discussion on the future of e-mobility. This lively, informative discussion featured some very high profile and engaging guests; Carol Chen from Shell, Scott Sharabura from Parkland and GVR’s Aaron Saak. It was hosted by Dan Munford.

Aaron Saak, President, Gilbarco Veeder-Root.
Aaron Saak is the President of Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR), an operating business of Vontier. GVR is the world’s leading supplier of innovative products and solutions for the mobility infrastructure market, with offerings ranging from point- of-sale software, fuel supply chain management, forecourt dispensers and electric vehicle charging solutions. Prior to GVR, Aaron was with Tyco International and General Electric. Aaron holds a Ph.D and master’s degree in engineering from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Illinois.
Carol Chen, Global CMO & SVP Shell Mobility and Chairman Shell Brands International, Shell.
As Global CMO & SVP for Shell Global Mobility business, Carol is responsible for Shell’s Mobility products, services, campaigns, digital solutions and analytics, E-mobility and low carbon fuels, and importantly elevating customer experiences for 30 million+ customer daily across 46,000 retail sites over 80 countries. This makes Shell the number one Mobility retailer in the world. Carol also holds the position of Chairman of Board Shell Brands international, and Non-Executive Director of Shell Downstream JV in Turkey. Her vision is to delight customers, grow the brand and develop innovative mobility solutions to drive sustainable growth both today and tomorrow.
Carol has had a rich global career, worked and lived in China, Canada, USA, Singapore and UK. And she has led a very sizeable global multi-cultural organization. Before joining Shell, Carol enjoyed a 20 year successful international career at P&G marketing where she led four-billion-dollar brands and high-performance teams across 4 global business units.
Scott Sharabura, VP of Electric Vehicle Charging, Parkland Corporation.
Scott Sharabura has 25 years of experience across the energy value chain. He is currently the VP of Electric Vehicle Charging for Parkland Corporation, focused on bringing EV charging solutions to retail and commercial customers. In his previous role as VP Strategy, Scott led the development of an energy transition strategy for Parkland, focusing on how Parkland can diversify its business and help its customers to decarbonize, including renewable diesel, EV charging, hydrogen, solar and carbon offsets. Prior to joining Parkland, Scott spent 15 years with the oil & gas practice of two leading management consulting firms (Booz Allen Hamilton and McKinsey), and two years as a refinery process engineer with Imperial Oil’s refinery in Sarnia. Scott holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, and Bachelor of Applied Science (Chem Eng) from the University of Waterloo in Canada.
